    Frances M. Stamper

    September 17, 1950 - May 28, 2011

    Frances M. Stamper was born on September 17, 1950 in Savannah, GA to the late Alonzo and Susie Mitchell. She attended the public schools of Chatham County. She was a dedicated member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized as a little girl. Frances was an active member of the church where she served as a past Superintendent of the Sunday school and was the former President of S.P.O.T. Ministry (Soldier Press on Through). She was the choir secretary and the writer of many plays. Some of her play titles included: “The Time is Now”, “Come To Jesus”, and “If I Could Just”. Mom was a “soldier for God” and was a soldier for her six children, mother, grands, great-grands, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We all love you and you will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She was preceded in death by: parents, Alonzo and Susie Mitchell, and brother, Leroy Jenkins. Mrs. France Stamper was called from labor to reward by God on May 28, 2011. At the close of day she found peace and was given rest by her Savior, Jesus Christ. She leaves to cherish her many memories: husband, Charles Stamper; six children, John Garrett (Monica), Antonio Hamilton, Tammy Palmer, Ronald Hamilton, April H. Gullie (Gordon), and her baby girl, Varnease Hamilton; eighteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; father of her children and friend, John E. Hamilton, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances M. Stamper will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011 at New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 661 East Broughton St., with Pastor Tony Reddick, officiating. Reposing at the church from 10:30 a.m., until hour of service. Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery.
