Mr. John A. Nimmons was born February 16, 1940 In Hampton County SC to the late Mr. William and Rebecca Nimmons. Both preceded him in death.
On Thursday, September 29, 2010 an angel whispered to him “The Lord is calling you from labor to reward”. He certainly will be missed by his loving family and entire community.
He was joined in holy matrimony
to Mrs. Blondell Nimmons in May 1962. From their forty-eight year union three children were born, Mr. Jonathan Nimmons, Mrs. Bonnita Wilson, and Ms. Karen Nimmons.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife Mrs. Blondell Nimmons of Savannah, Ga; Two sons: Mr. John (Sherry) Grant of Dallas Tx, Mr. Jonathan (Carolyn) Nimmons of Reidsville, NC; Three daughters: Mrs. Shaphornia (Jackie) Deloach of Scotia, SC, Mrs. Bonnita (Val) Wilson of San Antonio, Tx and Ms. Karen Nimmons of Savannah Ga; Three brothers: Julius Nimmons of West Palm Beach, Fl, Bobby (Alice) Nimmons of Babson Park, Fl and Allen Nimmons of Estill, SC; Three sisters: Elder Thelma (Clarence) Gillison of Scotia, SC, Jeraldine Donaldson of Babson Park, Fl and Eugenia (Carl) Gordon of Nixville, SC; Twelve grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren; Three God-daughters: LaFrenchie Gillison of Robertville, SC, Contrenna (Frankie) Smith of Pooler, Ga and Aleshia Gordon of Nixville, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. John A. Nimmons will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM from Metropolitan Baptist Church, 37th & Jefferson. Interment, Magnolia Memorial Gardens. Visitation, Friday, October 8, 2010 from 6~7 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.
