Edith "Tiny" Solomon

December 31, 1945 — July 4, 2018

On July 4, 2018, God in His supreme authority called Edith “Tiny” Solomon from labor to reward and welcomed her into heaven.

Born December 31, 1945 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Deacon James and Ruth Whitlock Morris, Edith spent most her life in Savannah where she was educated in the public-school system. She later earned her License Practical Nursing Diploma at Savannah Area Vocational Technical School. She worked as a LPN at two local hospitals and for the Georgia Regional Hospital. Edith accepted Christ as her savior and was a member of Mt. Olive Holiness Church for many years. She later moved her membership to First African Baptist Church of East Savannah under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Williams. Edith was loved by her family and was often the “life of the party” at family gatherings. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings.

Edith was preceded in death by her beloved parents, a brother, Edward Roberts, and a sister, Jamesetta Houston. She leaves to cherish her fond memories to her children: Isaac (Melissa) Seabrooks of Columbia, Carolina, Bennie (Pamela) Hines, Sr. of Port Wentworth, Georgia, LTC (R) Norman (LTC (R) Cheryl) Solomon of Alexandria, Virginia, Naomi Solomon-Battle of Savannah, Georgia, Rev. Robert (Linda) Solomon of Rincon, Georgia, and Joseph Solomon of Columbia, South Carolina. She also leaves to cherish her memories three sisters: Geraldine Brown, Mattie England, and Bertha (George) Williams, a brother, James (Cathy) Roberts, two aunts Alice Kennedy of Brooklyn New York and Hazel Whitlock of Newark, New Jersey, a special cousin, Deborah Allen, a dear friend to the family, Evelyn Dillard, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, July 12, 2018 at First African Baptist of East Savannah 402 Treat Avenue Interment Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery
